麒麟是中國古代傳說中的神獸，據說能活兩千年。

雄的名麒，雌的名麟，合稱麒麟。

性情溫和，不傷人畜，不踐踏花草，故稱為仁獸。

青龙（权力）

古代把天空里的恒星划分成为“三垣”和“四象”七大星区。
所谓的“垣”就是“城墙”的意思。“三垣”是“紫微垣”，象征皇宫；“太微垣”象征行政机构；“天市垣”象征繁华街市。
这三垣环绕着北极星呈三角状排列。在“三垣”外围分布着“四象”：“东苍龙、西白虎、南朱雀、北玄武”。也就是说，东方的星象如一条龙，西方的星象如一只虎，南方的星象如一只大鸟，北方的星象如龟和蛇。
由于地球围绕太阳公转，天空的星相也随着季节转换。
每到冬春之交的傍晚，苍龙显现；春夏之交，玄武升起；夏秋之交，白虎露头；秋冬之交，朱雀上升。
朱雀、玄武（黑色的龟蛇，武是龟蛇之意）、青龙、白虎又分别代表了四方的二十八宿，龙是东方的七宿——角、亢、氐、房、心、尾、箕，而这七宿的形状又极似龙形，从他们的字义上就可以看出来，角是龙的角，亢是颈项，氐是本，而是颈根，房是膀，是胁，心是心脏，尾是尾，箕是尾末。
还有在龙心的部分，有人称之为‘大火’的，跟晴雨有关，又因为青龙属木，所以也是木星当年的年太岁。
而在道教兴起之后，这些四灵也被冠上了人名，便于人类称呼，青龙叫‘孟章’，白虎叫‘监兵’，朱雀称‘陵光’，玄武为‘执明’，而在众多的朝代中也有一些君主取青龙来做自己的年号，如三国的魏明帝就是一例，而史记中也有关于夏朝是属于木德的朝代，所以他有‘青龙生于郊’的祥瑞之兆的记载。
农历的二月初二，民间称“二月二，龙抬头”，象征着春回大地，万物复苏。天上“龙抬头”的同时，春天也慢慢来到了人间，雨水也会多起来，大地返青，春耕从南到北陆续开始。
民间谚语有：“二月二，龙抬头，大仓满，小仓流。”之说，把二月初二定为“春龙节”。

白虎（财利）

白虎也是战神、杀伐之神。
白虎具有避邪、禳灾、祈丰及惩恶的扬善、发财致富、喜结良缘等多种神力。
而它是四灵之一，当然也是由星宿变成的。是由二十八星宿之中，位西方七宿：奎、娄、胃、昂、毕、觜、参。
所以是西方的代表，而它的白，是因是西方，西方在五行中属金，色是白的。
所以它叫白虎不是因它是白色，而是从五行中说的了。
除了道教中的四灵包括了青龙白虎之外，连在风水师探勘墓地时，在地形前方左右两边突起的地形，可以当作墓穴的地方，都有独特的称号，称之左青龙、右白虎，取其护卫之意，而在公堂中也有相同的装饰，在左右堂柱上绘有青龙百虎，以其镇压邪灵。而在道教兴起之后，龙虎被借用为道家炼丹的术语，就是指"铅汞、坎离、水火、阴阳"，等的同意词。
而道家炼丹分内外（内丹炼气，外丹炼丹药，笔者才疏学浅不敢十分确定），内丹是就阴阳五行而言，龙阳，生于离，离属火，故云‘龙从火里出’，虎阴，生于坎，坎属水，故云‘虎向水边生’，两者结合之后，一阴一阳，互相调和，称为道本，都是元神、元精的代表。
而另外一种说法是，性属木，木代表东方，于卦为震，故比为青龙；情属金，金代表西方，于卦为兑，金白色，故喻为白虎。金能够克木，故情多损性，而用二八之真精气，使之交合为一，则金木无间，龙虎自伏而成丹，在人体中则以肝为龙、肾为虎，而外丹则仍取阴阳之意，以龙为铅，虎为汞。
在古人心目中，老虎是可怕的东西，又是可敬的东西。可怕的是，它会食人畜。
而可敬的是因其威猛无比，能够避邪。
而在一些古书中，如东汉.应劭的《风俗通义.祀典》：‘画虎于门，鬼不敢入’，‘虎者，阳物，百兽之长也。
能执抟挫锐，噬食鬼魅。今人卒得恶遇，烧虎皮饮之。
击其爪，亦能辟恶。此其验也。’古人还认为白虎是一种祥瑞：‘德至鸟兽。’
最初的西天星神是熊和猫头鹰，但后因古羌族的图腾在由熊变为龙的时候。
而又到黄帝的向东发展时，龙的图腾被带到东方，跟‘东方苍龙星座’合而为一，朱鸟则成了统一南方时凤图腾在天国的新居，因两大部族融合而终于成‘龙凤呈祥’。
作为古代图腾是东凤而西龙，作为星象则是东苍龙而西朱鸟。
到周朝以后，封建制度正式确立，五行思想也成熟，把天像重新划分，朱鸟放到了南方，和祝融火神一起崇拜了。
而西方的就崇拜白虎。
在部族斗争及迁移，西北方的龙向东移，东方的凤向南移，南方的虎向北移，全国显示一个大周转的观念运动。到汉代五行观念成了统一的思想，再补出玄武完成‘四方之神’的配套。
在古时《史记.天宫书》‘东宫苍龙、南方朱鸟、西宫咸池、北宫玄武。’

由此可证明原始人所崇拜的星宫天象尚没有青龙白虎的观念。
在《礼记.礼运》所谓：‘麟凤龟龙，谓之四灵。’
把不属于动物的咸池换成麒麟。后世有四灵有麟、四象有虎的习惯。
又由于白虎是战伐之神，所以有多位的猛将被说成为白虎星充扥世的，如：唐代大将罗成、薛仁贵父子等人。
除此之外，白虎又被道教吸放，被神化起来，成为了各庙宇的门神。

朱雀（贵人）

朱雀又可说是凤凰或玄鸟。
朱雀是四灵之一，也和其他三种一样，它是出自星宿的，是南方七宿的总称：井、鬼、柳、星、张、翼、轸。联想起来就是朱雀了。朱为赤色，像火，南方属火，故名凤凰。它也有从火里重身的特性，和西方的不死鸟一样，故又叫火凤凰。
在古籍的记载中凤是一种美丽的鸟类，而以它的歌声与仪态为百鸟之王，它能给人间带来祥瑞，同时也拥有‘非梧桐不栖，非竹实不食，非醴泉不饮’的特殊灵性，而由于它是‘羽虫’之长，所以和‘鳞虫’之长的龙在传说中就渐渐成了一对，一个变化多端，一个德性美好，就成了民俗中相辅相成的一对，更由于龙象征着至阳，而原来也有阴阳之分的凤（凤为雄，雌为凰）在跟龙相对之后就渐渐的成为纯阴的代表了。
而凤凰它的原形有很多种。如锦鸡、孔雀、鹰鹫、鹄、玄鸟（燕子）等等...又有说是佛教大鹏金翅鸟变成的。
凤凰神话中说的凤凰是有鸡的脑袋、燕子的下巴、蛇的颈、鱼的尾、有五色纹。
又请凤是有五种品种，以颜色来分的：红是凤、青则是鸾鸟、白是天鹅、另有黄和紫的。
而玄鸟的说法就是从《诗经.商颂.玄鸟》说：‘天命玄鸟、降而生商、它殷土芒芒。
古帝命武汤、正域彼四方。’中，就是殷商说的后代说自己的先袓－契是由玄鸟生下来的，建立强大的商朝。
因此玄鸟就成了商人的始袓了。
《史记.殷本记》也记了这段历史：‘殷契、母曰简狄，有绒氐之女，为帝喾次妃......三人行浴，见玄鸟随其卵，简狄取而吞之，因孕生契。’
除了殷商之外，战国时的秦，满清的始袓和朝鲜新罗的始袓也是和仙女吞食玄鸟卵有关的。
不论玄鸟或是凤凰，都是随道教的发展，而把它由一只雀鸟，或孔雀或山鸡等等...先变成一个半人半禽的、传人兵法的仙女到完全是人的仙女，都是随道教的发展的。
而在北京过去就有三座专祀玄女的庙宇，叫九天娘娘庙、玄女庙。在北方和南方的地方也都有玄女庙。

玄武（福气）

玄武是一种由龟和蛇组合成的一种灵物。
玄武的本意就是玄冥，武、冥古音是相通的。武，是黑的意思；冥，就是阴的意思。
玄冥起初是对龟卜的形容：
龟背是黑色的，龟卜就是请龟到冥间去诣问袓先，将答案带回来，以卜兆的形式显给世人。
因此，最早的玄武就是乌龟。
以后，玄冥的含义不断地扩大。
龟生活在江河湖海（包括海龟），因而玄冥成了水神；乌龟长寿，玄冥成了长生不老的象征；最初的冥间在北方，殷商的甲骨占卜即‘其卜必北向’，所以玄冥又成了北方神。
它和其他三灵一样，玄武也由天下二十八星宿变成的：
斗、牛、女、虚、危、室、壁。
而古时后的人对玄武它的解释有以下的数种，‘玄武’即龟。
《礼记.曲礼上》云：
‘行，前朱鸟而后玄武...’‘玄武’乃龟蛇。
《楚辞.远游》洪兴祖补注：
‘玄武，谓龟蛇。位在北方，故曰玄。
身有鳞甲，故曰武。‘玄武’为蛇合体、龟与蛇交。
《文选》卷十五张衡《思玄赋》曰：
‘玄武宿于壳中兮，腾蛇蜿蜒而自纠。’
李善注云：‘龟与蛇交曰玄武。’
《后汉书.王梁传》：‘《赤伏符》曰：‘王梁主衡作玄武。’’李贤注云：‘亡武，北方之神，龟蛇合体。’‘玄武’为水神、北方之神。
《后汉书.王梁传》：‘玄武，水神之名。’
《重修纬书集成》卷六〈河图帝览嬉〉：‘北方玄武所生，...镇北方，主风雨。’
但玄武被后世的道士们升级做北方的大帝“真武大帝”。
有别于其他三灵。
其他的青龙和白虎，只做了山庙的门神，而朱鸟就成了又天玄女。
玄武在宋代身价培增，并被人格化。
这与宋代各帝推波助澜分不开。宋初太祖时，即有真武、天蓬等为天之大将的传说。
未真宗天禧元年，在军营中发生了一件事。在《事物纪原》卷七载：‘营卒有见蛇者，军士因其建真武堂。
二年闰四月，泉涌堂侧，汲不竭，民疾疫者，饮之多愈。’
真宗听说此事，下诏就地建观，赐名 ‘祥源’。
这大约是中国最早的真武庙。
真武大帝的身世，后人多说是在隋炀帝时，玉帝将自己的三魂之一，化身投胎于挣乐国皇后，厌恶尘世，舍位入武当山上修行，成功飞升，镇守北方，号曰：玄武。

聽人說狐仙穿著古代人的服飾，這些話多是聽老人說的，之所以修成狐仙，一定是修了很長時間，他穿的衣服可能是他修行時的那個年代就是穿的那種衣服。
在這裏，有一個美麗的傳說：
弘法大師在尋找道場的時候，在荒山遇到大霧，完全迷路了，怎麼走也走不出去，正在饑寒交迫的時候，「狐狸」放出光明，在前頭引路，把弘法大師救了出去。
於是，弘法大師感念「狐狸」之恩，便設立「祠院」紀念祭祠「狐狸」。

狐仙民俗

很久很久以前，每逢歲末，關東一帶的狐仙都會聚集於一棵大樸樹下，盛裝同往王子稻荷神社拜五穀神。當地居民則遠眺狐仙，從磷火的多寡判斷來年是否豐衣足食。

另外，日本料理中有一種豆皮壽司，味道酸酸甜甜的，大概是摻了醋和白糖做的，叫做「稻荷壽司」，為什麼叫做「稻荷壽司」呢？因為據說狐狸很喜歡吃油豆腐皮，以稻荷為名，取其豐收之意，吃了稻荷壽司會有好運的說法，也就不脛而走。

右手劍持求緣符三道，

「天清清、地靈靈、挑花仙姐顯威靈、扶持弟子施法咒、日精夜華吸真靈、求緣頭髮通威靈、匹配男女世間情、急急如律令」

速將三道求緣符焚化在瓶口上轉圈，
即將香油瓶取出屋外露天吸取精華之靈
「將瓶蓋打開為合」。

到亥時將香油取出祭煉，
照前法施行之，
連續祭煉後取去露天吸取精華三天，
即功德完滿。
後另將一道求緣符浸入香油瓶內，
隔日即可令求術者來壇焚香三支，
祈拜桃花仙姐，
另取求緣符一道令佩帶身上。
香油瓶可帶身上。
在出門會情人，
求人見人愛增加人緣，

这就是被口口相传数百年的九字真言。　　

“临、兵、斗、者、皆、阵、烈、在、前”

这九字真言的正确读法是

“りん、びょう、とう、しゃ、けい、じん、れつ、ざい、ぜん”，

也就是按日文的音读发音，并非有些文章中提到的

“あ、き、さ、た、か、は、わ、や、え”，

很多相关日文资料确认九印没有上述这种读法，

而我听过的正统九字真言全是按照第一种方法读的。

(りん、びょう、とう、しゃ、かい、じん、れつ、ざい、ぜん)，

“皆”是念かい，而不是けい哦！　　

用双手摆出各种印契是个必不可少的过程，

他们口颂手结的东西就是我们常说的九字真言或九字密印（九印）。

既然谈到九字真言就不能不说密宗。　　

正如前文中提到的，在古代，大多数都是东密的狂热份子，尽管很多不是刻意去修习密宗，但从生下来他们就被灌输了密宗思想，以后会不自觉的沉溺于其中或多或少的受到一些影响。所谓密宗是相对于佛教显宗而言的，他是古印度后期佛教的特色，是佛教与印度教结合的产物。流派方面可分为代表印度和中国汉地密宗的杂密、由中国密宗流传到日本后改良演化形成的东密和**的藏密。　　

唐玄宗时代，善无畏、金刚智、不空三藏三位印度密宗大师来到中国，他们传下了密宗的教门。宋末元初，由蒙古人带入**的密教，经过和当地**教的融会后形成了藏密。明朝永乐时期，朝廷认为密宗过于怪异，便下令废逐，故杂密在中原势渐衰微，而晚唐时期由空海大师代到日本的东密真言宗却得到了广泛传播。

密宗视毗卢遮那

（即大日如来，著名的镰仓大佛就是毗卢遮那）

为最高统帅和创教之主，极力推崇传承、真言和密咒。

而它的另一大特点就是密宗认为人的身体有许多奥秘和潜能，只要通过密宗法门的不懈努力就能使修行者发挥全部潜力，让身体与宇宙沟通达到天人和一的境界，这和追求的极限体术不谋而合。　　

“三密加持”

是密宗修行的一个重要组成部分。

包括身密——手结印契，语密——口颂真言和意密——心观尊佛。　　

身密的主要修行就是“结手印”。

简单的说就是通过两手十指相互交叉结成不同的形状，并配合想象意念形成的修法。

密宗手印的种类可谓数以千记，每种都有特殊的含义和作用，例如：吉祥印、金刚大惠印、大轮坛印、摧伏诸魔印、宝冠持宝印、光焰火界印、缚思等仙印、准九头龙印等等，虽然有些手印名字相同，但其结出的形状却大相径庭。像金刚甲胄印就是趋魔护体的一种（如是当以明印想成甲胄，擐于自身遍起光焰，恶心魔类四散驰走）。

九印依次为：独占印、大金钢轮印、外狮子印、内狮子印、外缚印、内缚印、知券印、日轮印和隐形印。　　

对东密而言，透过人体两手十个指头，配上心理想象的意念，契合某一修法，互相结成各个不同的“ 手印”，便可产生加持修学密法者的效力。

密宗理论认为双手十指对外与法界佛性相通，对内与五脏六腑相通，所以修习密法时，结成“手印”，便可与法界中已经成就的请佛菩萨的身密互相感召，增加速成效果，自身也如同获得了佛的神通。

除了结手印以外身密还有各种坐势，它和手印一样种类繁多且各具意义，全跏趺坐中的“吉祥坐”与“降魔坐”是常练习的两种。

有详述中的“香”进行吉祥坐、降魔坐的精神集中修炼。　　

语密又称真言，是通过修习者口诵一串咒文使其心中产生造化物并促使他们异变，利用这种特殊的音符震动身体中的气脉，将心集中于一点上形成超乎寻常的潜能并启发神通与高度的智慧。

密宗中真言的数量和手印一样也是种类繁多，例如：火天真言、阎魔王真言、四天王真言、金翅鸟王真言、罗刹众真言、罗刹王真言、加持句真言、三昧耶真言、不动尊真言、金刚甲胄真言等，另外还有五字真言、藏密六字真言

（在中国非常有名的六个字，别告诉我你不知道！）、

文殊八字真言。

念的“临、兵、斗、者、皆、阵、烈、在、前”

是东密中的九会曼荼罗真言。

东密真言大多是根据古印度梵文字母的声与韵组合来发音的。

不过，在日本高野山东密大道场所传出的咒语，

大体上都已变成了带有日本音的梵语。　　

现在要详实地研究密宗咒语的音韵，实在是一个非常复杂的问题。

但不同于源自古印度梵文的藏密六字真言，

“临、兵、斗、者、皆、阵、烈、在、前”

这九个字始出于中国东晋的道教典籍《抱朴子》。

大家都知道《抱朴子》是一部道家经典，分内篇与外篇两部分。

内篇主要介绍的是道教的丹法、禁术与养生，外篇则是兵略、政论等相关内容。

九字真言就出自《抱朴子·内篇·登涉》中。

中国道教有许多禁术，禁术又称“ 禁法”，道教认为用此可遏制鬼物和毒虫猛兽。

禁术盖由早期气术、符法派生而来，始见于东汉末。

可分为

“气禁”与“咒禁”两类。

其涉及内容五花八门，从行云求雨、驱虫避灾到请鬼送神无所不能，天狗一直追求的

正月初九是天界最高神祗玉皇大帝的誕辰，俗稱「天公生」。

「天公」就是「玉皇大帝」，道教稱之為「元始天尊」，是主宰宇宙最高的神，每逢祂的生日，人們都會舉行祭典以表慶賀，自午夜零時起一直到當天淩晨四時，都可以聽到不停的鞭炮聲。
祭拜天公的儀式相當隆重，在正廳「天公爐」下糧]祭壇，一般都是用長板凳或矮凳先置金紙再疊高八仙桌為「頂桌」，桌前並繫上吉祥圖案的桌圍，後面另設「下桌」。「頂桌」供奉用彩色紙製成的神座（象徵天公的寶座），前面中央為香爐，爐前有紮紅紙麵線三束及清茶三杯，爐旁為燭台；其後排列五果（柑、橘、蘋果、香蕉、甘蔗等水果）、六齋（金針、木耳、香菇、菜心、菀豆、綠豆等）祭祀玉皇大帝；下桌供奉五牲（雞、鴨、魚、卵、豬肉或豬肚、豬肝）、甜料（生仁、米棗、糕仔等）、紅龜粿（像龜形，外染紅色，打龜甲印，以象徵人之長壽）等祭拜玉皇大帝的從神。
要注意的是，在祭拜天公之前，全家大小都得齋戒沐浴，初九當天，更禁止家人曬衣服，尤其是女褲、內衣或倒垃圾桶，以表示對玉皇大帝的尊敬；祭品如果要用牲畜的，一定要用公雞、不能用母雞。若是要還願時，必須用全豬或全羊。
